1 – Is Your Doctor A Trained Plastic Surgeon Who Specializes In Cosmetic Surgery?

It is shocking that so many patients who come to me, Dr. Mariam Awada, for corrections were not aware that their doctor was not a plastic surgeon trained in cosmetic surgery. Unfortunately, many follow advertisements on TV and the radio, expecting people to be trained plastic surgeons. Many of these doctors who advertise their services have never gone through plastic surgery residency to have formal cosmetic surgery training. Those who are plastic surgeons do not solely dedicate their entire practice, staff, experience, and research to cosmetic surgery, like we do at our clinic. They may routinely perform reconstructive work and do cosmetic surgery on the side, but they do not work with cosmetic surgery patients day in and day out.
